
Alan Shapiro is a Vancouver-based environmental strategist and educator with more than a decade of experience in water, climate, and sustainability. He is Program Co-Lead of Working for Watersheds, a collaborative initiative building British Columbia's watershed sector through workforce development, engagement, and advocacy. He also teaches in the Sustainable Business Leadership program at the BC Institute of Technology, and leads Shapiro & Company, a consultancy focused on accelerating collective action on water, climate, and nature. Alan serves on the board of Leading Change, a nation-wide movement of young sustainability leaders and professionals. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University and is currently pursuing a PhD in regenerative business at the University of Alberta.
